Mask of the Revenant
The Unum chooses Nakak to receive a strange mask. A mask that leads to even stranger visions. What lost story does the Unum want to tell?
Starting the quest
Once a Tenno has reached Observer rank with the Quills, Nakak will talk about a new mask if approached, and will have a dialogue option to inquire further.
Nakak (unsubtitled): "Swazdo-lah, Tenno! Kruna metta! Today, a very unique mask has come into my possession. Incredible, perhaps even… magical! It's… it's… eh, uh, whatever."
Tenno dialogue option: "Mask?"
Nakak: "Sales! I really love it. [pause] Look, to be honest – Onkko made this mask, and it's a bit of a creep-piece. He set some weird eyes in it, said: "The Unum chooses!" Ai yo. 'Unum chooses' is short for nightmares and a wild Vobi hunt. Funny, right? Tower spirit choosing me… and I can't stand heights! I think that makes me fake-Ostron? Tower work was more my cousin Mukha's calling; he's fearless— uh, was fearless. Well… buy the mask, Tenno! Or don't; up to you."
After explaining the mask's origin, Nakak will offer the Mask of the Lost One for sale in her shop for 1 Cetus wisp. The Tenno must buy the mask and equip it on their Operator. The mask is described as such: "Built to the Unum's specifications, and fitted with prismatic lenses supplied by the Quill Onkko."
(after purchasing the mask and exiting dialogue) Nakak: "Great. Onkko's note here says: 'Wear the mask when the moon shines bright… upon the haunted Plains of Eidolon.' You could do that. OR you could take the day off, toss that mask into the lake. 'Oh! Sorry Onkko, we lost it!'"
As a mini-quest, Mask of the Revenant will not show up in the World State Window as active, nor are there UI prompts. The player must determine how to proceed based on dialogue cues.
First Mission: A New Threat Looms (Plains of Eidolon, Earth)
The Tenno must enter the Plains of Eidolon at night while their Operator is equipped with the Mask of the Lost One.
Nakak: "Alright. Fine, Tenno. But if I start seeing Unum things… it's on you!"
There is a white area objective on the western shore of Gara Toht Lake. A large, spectral, flying Sentient, similar to the Ropalolyst, will be visible hovering over the Eidolon Shrine on the lake. Upon entering the objective area, the spectral Sentient will disappear into the water.
(upon Transferring out in the objective area) Nakak: "Chut! Is it working? Ai yooooo, it is working. No getting out of this now, is there?"
On the bank will be a pale-green patch of glowing light on the ground, with an ghostly arm reaching out of it to clutch at the air.
(upon spotting the patch of light) Nakak: "What is that? Some Eidolon? No. Wait. Somehow, it's not. I can't believe I'm saying this but… can you get a closer look?"
Touching the patch of light by interacting with it will cause it to disappear. The "A New Threat Looms" fragment will be scanned into the Codex, and Nakak will receive an ancient memory from the Unum.
(upon touching the patch of light) Nakak: "Why do I remember this? The land here, killing hot, full of strangeness. This is where Gara vanquished the Sentient! Where its essence fell into the ground, trapped in some unworldly between. It wanted out. At moonrise its ghostly tendrils would emerge, seeking form, seeking… return. And this… this was the warden… a warframe. I can see it, like a dream repeating…. The tendril emerging, night after night, and the warden, night after night, cutting it down… until the warden himself was lost. How?"
(If the Tenno does not have a Revenant part) Nakak: "Khanung. The Unum is in my head…. She commands you to seek the pieces of the lost one… and rebuild it. What? Like I have time for this… I've got a business to run! Ai yo…. Onkko said Grineer Command was excited about some relics they'd dug up. Maybe you should talk to Konzu?"
If the Tenno has a Revenant component in their inventory, Nakak will immediately continue with the next objective. If the Tenno has two or more Revenant components, the entire quest can be completed during a single mission. If not, the Tenno may return to Cetus in order to obtain Revenant components.

Nakak (unsubtitled): "Lok heb, Tenno! The Unum calls for you to bring the lost one back to us, piece by piece. But how? Have you spoken to Konzu yet?"
Konzu will not have Revenant-related dialogue, but blueprints for Revenant components (chassis, systems, neuroptics) will be offered on his bounty board as rewards for third-, fourth-, and fifth-tier bounties. The Tenno must complete bounties until they have received a blueprint, and construct it in the Foundry. Once they have claimed it, they may proceed by entering the Plains at night again, wearing the mask.
Second Mission: A Terror Long Forgotten (Plains of Eidolon, Earth)
The Tenno must enter the Plains of Eidolon at night while their Operator is equipped with the Mask of the Lost One.
Nakak: "The lost one's spirit calls for aid! We can't just leave him… wherever he is. Are you ready, Tenno?"
The area objective is now on the east side of Gara Toht Lake, with another patch of energy on the lake shore. The flying Sentient will again appear for a brief second upon seeing the objective area.
(upon spotting the patch of light) Nakak: "Khanung! Do you see? The lost one struggling… what happened to him?"
Touching the patch of light will scan the "A Terror Long Forgotten" fragment into the Codex.
(upon touching the patch of light) Nakak: "Ugh… here we go again. I remember…. The pool glows, the tendril emerges… and this warframe draws its weapon to destroy yet again… wait… no. He does not strike this time, he watches. Why? The phantom tendril grips trees and rocks, probing for substance… then fear returns and the lost one slashes the phantom, sending it back to its purgatory…."
Nakak: "Why is the Unum doing this to me? Because of Mukha? Because I was too afraid to stay? If I'd been there, he wouldn't have been so… brave… so stupid. What was he thinking? The sooner you build this warframe, the sooner the Unum's out of my head."
[in Cetus]
As before, the Tenno must obtain another Revenant component to proceed.
Third Mission: The Lost One (Plains of Eidolon, Earth)
The Tenno must again enter the Plains of Eidolon at night while their Operator is equipped with the Mask of the Lost One.
Nakak: "I… I need to know what happened to the lost one. Find the place where he calls out to us. Let me know when you… when you're there."
This time, the area objective is on the river as it flows from Renthi Spring down towards the lake, with the patch of light on the eastern bank. The flying Sentient will appear, hovering low, close to the water, before disappearing.
(upon spotting the patch of light) Nakak: "There! See? He's further out… trying to escape… can you help?"
Touching the patch of light will scan the fragment "The Lost One" into the Codex.
(upon touching the patch of light) Nakak: "I see… the tendril once again. Instead of striking it… the lost one… he extends a hand to the Eidolon?! Khanung! What was he thinking? He's like Mukha on the tower. Every day, Mukha clamoured across the tower ledges and scaffolds – nothing happened, day in and day out…. Routine took his fear away. Uhh… Tenno… I see the tendril has him now. The lost one. He's become an anchor for the Eidolon – to pull itself onto our world! The lost one struggles, pulling back, but it's too late! The Eidolon begins to emerge. But… the lost one realises – he stops… he lets go… and so he falls. Falls from this world of the living and down, down, down into the next. Mukha, that was so stupid."
After Nakak has finished narrating the memory, a spectral Revenant warframe will appear and begin attacking the Tenno, using Revenant's abilities and a Phantasma shotgun.
Nakak: "Khanung! It's attacking! Hold on, this isn't some trapped warframe spirit! He's become a mask for some Eidolon! We can't let it rebuild itself! Tenno, you need to destroy it!"
Nakak: "The Eidolon's violence is within him, Tenno! Cast it out! Free him!"
Upon destroying the Revenant ghost, the Tenno will receive a blueprint for the Revenant warframe.
(upon destroying the ghost) Nakak: "Thank the Unum. You've driven out the Eidolon… but what's left, I wonder?"
Nakak: "Mukha, the warden… they lost their fear. But I have plenty… and… I'm still here. Is that why the Unum chose me for this? Thanks for the nightmares! Glad that's over. If you need me, I'll be under Nana's blanket with a flask of hot chimurr. Maybe I'll burn some incense, for Mukha. Y'know, sales isn't so bad after all. Everyone needs a mask, right?"
Afterwards, if the Tenno obtains the last component of the Revenant warframe (only two are needed for the quest) and constructs it, Nakak will speak to the Tenno again when they claim Revenant from the Foundry.
Nakak: "By the Unum, you've done it! The lost one is reborn, made Revenant. A warframe, infused with the powers of an Eidolon! That's a scary thought, isn't it? But I worry, it's a power we'll soon need. I had a dream. Something new, stirring within the ground. Seeking a body to call its own, longing to strike those who sent it to the grave…. If you need me, I'll be in at my shop, surah."
