Titanium is also used to replenish stores of energy, Hull Restores, and Dome Charges during Empyrean missions. Earlier in Empyrean development, Titanium would have been spent to "reinforce" the Railjack's main components2, providing stat bonuses for a certain number of missions, but this mechanic was scrapped before Empyrean launched. Titanium can be fed to the Helminth to secrete Oxides.

Ticor Plate

High-density alloy armour plating used in the construction of offensive spacecraft.

A common resource found in Empyrean missions. Ticor Plate is used in constructing Railjack Plating components. Ticor Plate is also used to replenish stores of Revolite, energy, Munitions, and Dome Charges during Empyrean missions. Ticor Plate can be fed to the Helminth to secrete Bile.

Pustrels

A parasitic growth often found growing in mineral deposits.

A common resource found in Empyrean missions and also as a drop from Eximus enemies in the Infested Ship tileset (primarily on Eris). Pustrels were used to build the Railjack in the Rising Tide quest and were also used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage, typically in large quantities. Pustrels were also used to replenish stores of Revolite and Dome Charges during Empyrean missions. Pustrels were removed from the game in Update 29.10 in order to streamline Empyrean gameplay. Any Pustrels in Tenno inventories were allowed to remain, but they no longer drop as a resource and are no longer required for any purpose. Prior to Update 28, Pustrels were mined from red mineral veins on the Plains of Eidolon, instead of dropping from Eximus enemies.

Copernics

A cell of encapsulated Void energy.

A common resource found in Empyrean missions and also as a drop from Eximus enemies in the Orokin Moon tileset (on Lua). Copernics were used to build the Railjack in the Rising Tide quest and were also used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage, typically in large quantities. Copernics were also used to replenish stores of Flux Energy and Munitions during Empyrean missions. Copernics were removed from the game in Update 29.10 in order to streamline Empyrean gameplay. Any Copernics in Tenno inventories were allowed to remain, but they no longer drop as a resource and are no longer required for any purpose. Prior to Update 28, Pustrels were mined from red mineral veins on the Orb Vallis, instead of dropping from Eximus enemies.

Uncommon

Asterite

Formed over billions of years, these crystals are most often found embedded in space rock.

An uncommon resource found in Empyrean missions. Asterite is used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage, as well as the Sevagoth systems component. Asterite can be fed to the Helminth to secrete Calx.

Isos

A self-replicating fluid composed of nanoproxies capable of independently repairing worn and damaged systems.

An uncommon resource found in Empyrean missions, primarily in Earth Proxima. Isos are used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage, as well as a small number of other items. The icon has Corpus text on the top and bottom that reads "ISOS". Isos can be fed to the Helminth to secrete Bile.

Gallos Rods

Antimatter fuel cell that powers the Grineer ships.

An uncommon resource found in Empyrean missions, primarily in Saturn Proxima. Gallos Rods are used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage, as well as a small number of other items. Early in Empyrean development, Gallos Rods were known simply as Gallos3. Gallos Rods can be fed to the Helminth to secrete Calx.

Kesslers

Orokin devices used for navigating the solar winds.

An uncommon resource found in Empyrean missions, primarily in Saturn Proxima. Kesslers were used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage. Kesslers were removed from the game in Update 29.10 in order to streamline Empyrean gameplay. Any Kesslers in Tenno inventories were allowed to remain, but they no longer drop as a resource and are no longer required for any purpose.

Trachons

An organ found on Infested ships, believed to facilitate communication within the Infested hive mind.

An uncommon resource found in Empyrean missions, primarily in Veil Proxima. Trachons were used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage. Trachons were removed from the game in Update 29.10 in order to streamline Empyrean gameplay. Any Trachons in Tenno inventories were allowed to remain, but they no longer drop as a resource and are no longer required for any purpose.

Rare

Aucrux Capacitors

Once installed, these delicate power systems fuse with a Corpus Obelisk's engines. Unused capacitors are therefore highly prized.

A rare resource found in Empyrean missions, primarily in Earth Proxima. Aucrux capacitors are used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage, as well as a small number of other items. Aucrux Capacitors can be fed to the Helminth to secrete Synthetics.

Nullstones

Nullstones do not conform to several laws of physics, making them highly prized for optimising sensitive components.

A rare resource found in Empyrean missions, primarily in Earth Proxima. Nullstones are used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage, as well as a small number of other items. Nullstones can be fed to the Helminth to secrete Calx.

Fresnels

A rare Orokin material used to create a tear in space and allow safe passage through the Void.

A rare resource found in Empyrean missions, primarily in Veil Proxima. Fresnels are used in constructing Railjack ship components and repairing wreckage. Fresnels were removed from the game in Update 29.10 in order to streamline Empyrean gameplay. Any Fresnels in Tenno inventories were allowed to remain, but they no longer drop as a resource and are no longer required for any purpose.

Special

Corrupted Holokey

A corrupted decryption key dating back to the founding of the city of Corposium. Millions of these Holokeys were lost to the Void when Parvos Granum's flagship was bombed. Strongly desired by Ergo Glast.

A special resource rewarded from Empyrean Void Storm missions. Used to purchase Tenet melee weapons from Ergo Glast for 40 Corrupted Holokeys each.

Anomaly Shard

A shard ripped from a Sentient Anomaly in the Veil Proxima. Little Duck is known to trade these for exotic goods somewhere in Fortuna.

A special resource obtained by completing Anomaly objectives in Veil Proxima. Anomaly shards can be traded to Little Duck in Fortuna in return for the Tenebrous Ephemera and Sentient Anomaly Captura scenes. Anomaly shards are also used to craft Caliban and his Venato scythe.

Dirac

Consumed to upgrade Railjack grid and avionics.

A special resource found in Empyrean missions and also obtained by scrapping wreckage and avionics. Dirac is used to upgrade the Railjack avionic grid, as well as individual avionics. Dirac was removed from the game in Update 29.10 in order to streamline Empyrean gameplay. 1. Copernics, like the Copernicus node on Lua, are named after Nicolaus Copernicus: the Renaissance astronomer and mathematician who proposed a heliocentric model of the Solar System in his 1543 work “De revolutionibus orbium coelestium”. Albrecht’s diary entries and the ending of the New War quest both suggest the Sun’s importance to Orokin life, science and anxieties – cultural heliocentrism, if you will.

Kesslers refer to the astrophysicist Donald J. Kessler, or the “Kessler syndrome” that he proposed in 1978: simply put, it is a scenario in which collisions between objects in orbit causes debris, which causes further collisions, and so on; this would, in turn, make successful launches into the affected planet’s orbit or beyond it even harder as the debris field intensifies. With this in mind, the resource is likely used to navigate through the Kessler-style debris fields of the (post-)Orokin era.

Fresnels are named after the French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel, or the Fresnel lens that bears his name: just as a Fresnel lens focusses light into a beam, so the resource of that name may focus energy into a form capable of tearing through space. Perhaps the wave-particle properties of light are involved? (Disclaimer: I am not a physicist.)

Dirac refers to the English physicist and early quantum theorist Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac. Several concepts in particle physics and quantum mechanics also bear his name, such as the “Dirac equation” (which predicted the existence of antimatter), “Dirac membrane”, and “Dirac sea”.

As a final note, all of these resources named after real scientists – one of whom, Kessler, is still alive as of writing – were removed in the same update. In addition, all of them save Dirac are explicitly Orokin in origin.
