Prime Resurgence

16 November 2021 – 25 January 2022

Prime Resurgence was an event in late 2021 that acted as an extended and expanded Prime Vault occurrence.

Operation

On Tuesday (16 November 2021), the event began with the release of Update 30.9.4 and was set to run for 10 weeks. Upon logging in, the Tenno received an inbox message from Maroo.

Inbox message:
Want Primes? There’s someone you need to meet

Heya tin-suit.

Looking for hard-to-find Prime gear? Void Relics, Prime Weapons… Prime Warframes?

You need to come to the Bazaar. Got someone you NEED to meet.

Would you believe she can produce Prime gear from the past?

Get your shiny butt over to the Bazaar and see for yourself.

—Maroo

Varzia’s shop

During the event, a new resource called Aya could drop from Void missions, Bounty rewards, or Relic packs (ie, the standard methods of obtaining vaulted relics in prior Prime Vault occurrences). This Aya could be taken to Varzia in Maroo’s Bazaar and traded for vaulted relics, at a rate of 1 Aya for 1 relic. Aya was described as “Raw Orokin memory plasma. Varzia’s Foundry can consume Aya to create Void Relics.”

An additional resource currency called Regal Aya could be purchased for real-world money from the warframe.com website, and could not be obtained in-game through other methods.. Regal Aya could be traded to Varzia to immediately obtain Prime warframes and weapons, as well as purchase Prime Accessories. Regal Aya was described as “Premium quality Aya, available from the Market. Varzia uses Regal Aya to reconstruct Prime warframes and equipment.”

Neither Aya nor Regular Aya are tradeable.

When the Tenno obtained their first Aya, a popup dialogue box was shown that said “Use AYA to trade with Varzia in Maroo’s Bazaar for Prime Resurgence gear.”

Varzia was a new character found in Maroo’s Bazaar. Varzia was a female Dax soldier with a damaged helmet who had previously been seen in the Erra cutscene (where her helmet was damaged by Erra himself). Varzia stood in front of a Foundry bench that held Ayatan sculptures and stars (including a new, unknown Ayatan sculpture), as well as Void relics and several vials of Breath of the Eidolon. She had a large amount of dialogue for Tenno who interacted with her or stood nearby.

Note: This event is currently ongoing. Dialogue may not be complete.

(greeting the Tenno for the first time) “Tenno. Remember me? We never got introduced. Name’s Varzia. Former Dax. Was on ice ’til our mutual friend over there popped my pod. Wasn’t too happy about waking up with all my friends dead… and a headache bigger than Hunhow’s ass, hahaha, but a looker as sweet as Maroo… yeah, can help you forget anything. Huh… you’re not here for my life story. You’re hunting antiquities, right? Primes. I can make that happen, if you bring me Aya.”

(greeting a Tenno without a Prime warframe) “Been behaving yourself?”

(greeting a Tenno without a Prime warframe) “You have my attention.”

(greeting a Tenno without a Prime warframe) “Can’t ever be sure what I’ll trawl up. Seems to come in waves.”

(greeting a Tenno without a Prime warframe) “Let’s see who we can dredge up from the dim, dark past.”

(greeting a Tenno without a Prime warframe) “Alrighty. Let’s make some memories.”

(greeting a Tenno with a Prime warframe) “Always feels like meeting an old friend, regardless of who’s wearing them.”

(greeting a Tenno with a Prime warframe) “Now here’s a Tenno who looks after their frames.”

(greeting a Tenno with a Prime warframe) “Haha, seeing one of you wearing a Prime always takes me back.”

(greeting a Tenno with a Prime warframe) “Stand up straight, now. Let me look at you.”

(if the Tenno asks “Erra?”)1 “Ah, kid. I’d trade all this Prime gear for a few shards of seriglass, a hammer, and five minutes alone with whatever gilded bastard gave the Sentients the key to the Reservoir. [sigh] Erra hurt me. But if you kids hadn’t showed up, he’d have killed me… and in my book, that means I owe ya. So. Here I am.”

(if the Tenno asks “Ayatan?”) “Whippings. Massacres. Executions. All their favourite memories. That’s what the Orokin used those pretty Ayatans for. Channelling Aya, the essence of memory. I just love watching Maroo melt them down. Erasing the Orokin, piece by piece. Some things deserve to be forgotten. Forever.”

(if the Tenno asks “Aya?”) “Orokin sequencing medium. Pricks used it to archive everything. Memories, evidence… warframes. The Orokin can rot in their own filth, but those Prime ‘frames? They deserve to live again… and Regal Aya can make that happen. With Regal Aya, this Foundry can reconstruct you a Prime warframe yanked straight from my time. As real as my pretty face in front of yours. No guesswork.”

(when opening shop) “No guarantees with Void Relics. Just like life.”

(when opening shop) “Primes. As bright as if they were forged yesterday.”

(when opening shop) “The Prime Vanguard. The Pride of Empire. And the end of it. Hell of a thing.”

(when opening shop) “Let’s talk about the good stuff. For old time’s sake.”

(when opening shop) “Might want to refine any Relics you get. For luck.”

(when opening shop) “Nothing left to chance if you’re bringing Regal Aya.”

(when opening shop) “If you’re here for Relics, you might have to crack a few before you get what you’re after.”

(idling while browsing wares) “Teshin’s like his blade, if you ask me. Cold, hard, and in desperate need of a good grinding.”

(idling while browsing wares) “Some warframes were Prime from the start. Others earned it. Ballas never told the whole truth.”

(idling while browsing wares) “Primes were reserved for the Prime Vanguard. The best of the best, and the rest… are adequate, I guess. If you’re satisfied with merely adequate.”

(idling while browsing wares) “Not sure I should let you handle these goods with all that Orokin blood on your hands. [pause] Kidding! I’m glad they’re dead and I hope it hurt.”

(idling while browsing wares)[sigh] ‘S weird. I barely remember the faces of the Seven. But that black-sash Yaskutai who served our mess table? Ha, every little bead of her sweat stands out like a diamond in my mind….”

(idling while browsing wares) “I see there’s been a whole lot of… valiant attempts to make Frames up to the Prime standard since my time. Bless them. They did the best they could with what they had.”

(idling while browsing wares) “I wear the uniform because I believe in the principles we died for. But the day will come when I take it off and lay it to rest. Hahaha, and, if I’m too bloody-minded, hopefully some pretty thing is there to do it for me.”

(idling while browsing wares) “My time is past, but damn, I miss the heft of a weapon… [inhales] the stench of superheated plasma. [sighs] I’d be fighting alongside you if I didn’t have this thieving little miscreant to watch over. You can bet on it.”

(idling while browsing wares) “Time was I’d have had a thief like Maroo up on multiple charges. Won’t be slapping cuffs on her now. Unless she wants me to, of course.”

(idling while browsing wares) “Teshin’s chapter-and-verse, until he gets his weapon in his hand. [sigh] I never got tired of watching that.”

(idling while browsing wares) “The Orokin were inhumane scum. The absolute dregs. But sweet tender mercy, could they design. The Primes they created have never been matched.”

(idling while browsing wares) “You know how it is to serve in silence. We SAW things. The Yuvan Theatre. The Naberus Revels. Not the kind of things you can… convey… to people who just weren’t there. Am I right?”

(idling while browsing wares) “Don’t sweat the Dax thing. My oaths died with the Golden Lords. Looking this good in uniform, ah, is just a bonus.”

(idling while browsing wares) “You could live a thousand years and never wake to a face like hers. I slept a thousand, and look what I got. What do you think? A career con like her and an old Dax like me?”

(idling while browsing wares) “Not looking to settle any old scores with your kind, Tenno. Working with Aya… I saw the way your Amps carved people I loved in two. Don’t think I didn’t. But… we’re all different people now.”

(idling while browsing wares)[grunts] Teshin. I dunno if I wanna slam him against a wall, or have him slam me against one.”

(idling while browsing wares) “We need to be ready for the Sentients this time. I already got out of one coffin. So no stinking machine is going to put me in another.”

(idling while browsing wares) “You’re not going to settle for a rank-and-file warframe, are ya? Not when you could have Vanguard class?”

(idling while browsing wares) “When your life’s on the line and you’re staring down that raging Eidolon, nothing will keep you in one piece better than a Prime. If you value your shiny ass, bring me that Aya.”

(when purchasing an item) “From memory to reality, quick as a bowshot.”

(when purchasing an item) “Ah, glad to see it back in action.”

(when purchasing an item) “By the glory and wisdom of the Seven, yadda yadda yadda.”

(when purchasing an item) “Here. Fresh from the past.”

(when purchasing an item) “Memory’s a tricksy thing, but I think you’ll do fine.”

(when purchasing an item) “The Orokin made you bleed for Primes. You’ve bled enough.”

(when purchasing an item) “May the Void bring you what you need.”

(exiting wares without purchase) “Ah, no pressure, but this stuff might not be here next time.”

(exiting wares without purchase) “Damn. Sure I can’t tempt you?”

(exiting wares without purchase) “Save your shot until you’re sure of your target.”

(exiting wares without purchase) “The circling hawk may choose its prey at leisure.”

(exiting wares without purchase) “You choose when you’re good and ready.”

(exiting wares without purchase) “Good. Don’t rush into things.”

(exiting wares without purchase) “In your own time.”

(bidding farewell) “Don’t go leaving anything unsaid.”

(bidding farewell) “Well… good luck.”

(bidding farewell) “Make me proud.”

(bidding farewell) “Don’t let your uncle Teshin down, now.”

(bidding farewell) “Enjoy your future.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “Keep it moving.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “Aya, regular and Regal, bring it here. Ayatans to the sweet thing over there.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “It’s fine if all you want is a training warframe, instead of a Prime. We all start somewhere.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “After that Sentient scum nearly killed me, I swore I’d never take anything for granted. Not a breath, not a wink… not a kiss.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “Tempting Old War treasures on display.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “We’re on the verge of war. Take your sweetness where you can.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “Ha, look at you, looking so fine. No wonder your uncle Teshin’s proud.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “Rumours were true. The vault of history is open.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “Inventory, secrets, and scars. No need to put them all on display.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby)[sigh] Whatever Tenno and Dax may have been to one another in the past, that’s in the past.”

(if the Tenno idles nearby) “The kicker isn’t that you kids brought down an Empire. It’s that half of you don’t remember doing it.”
