Cephalon Cy Dialogue: Corpus Missions

Corpus Railjack promo image

Empyrean missions against the Corpus have a number of possible objectives, but much of the dialogue and mission flow is shared across all mission types. Cephalon Cy acts as mission control, as he does during all Empyrean missions.

All Empyrean Corpus missions revolve around a capital ship that must eventually be boarded. Before the Tenno can do so, they must first destroy a number of Security Nodes placed on the outside of the ship, destroy a number of Crewships, disable a number of other priority targets in the area, or some combination of these objectives. Crewships and priority targets can still appear even when the Tenno is not required to engage them, adding to the complexity of the battle.

Upon clearing the secondary objectives and boarding the ship, Cephalon Cy will usually hand off mission control to another party (Lotus or Vilcor). The only exception is the Volatile mission type, which he will continue to direct.

A point of interest will appear in every Corpus Empyrean mission. These vary by planet and are entirely optional objectives.

Transmissions from the Corpus Captain of the capital ship, giving orders to their soldiers, can be overheard during these missions.

Currently, Corpus Empyrean missions are limited to the following game modes:

Mission start

(Exterminate) "Command ship in-sector. Depopulate it."

(Exterminate) "Vessel on scope. Small. Clear it out."

(Exterminate) "Vessel on scope. Clear the crew. Leave the ship for salvage."

(Exterminate) "Housekeeping. Cap ship. Sweep and clear."

(Exterminate) "Training exercise. Clear out that ship."

(Exterminate) "Target vessel is high value. The crew is not. Sweep and clear."

(Exterminate) "Target vessel marked. Standard sweep-and-clear. Make ready to board."

(Defence) "Infiltrate Corpus ship and defend objective. Heavy resistance is assured. Are you excited. I am excited."

(Defence) "Coming up on Corpus vessel. Board and protect the target."

(Defence) "Approaching Corpus vessel. Board and safeguard the target."

(Defence) "On approach. Gear up. You are on bodyguard duty."

(Defence) "Find objective. Protect. Exfiltrate."

(Defence) "Your operational arena is the interior of that Corpus ship. Find the target, keep it intact."

(Orphix) "Corpus capital ship has become a staging platform for Orphix Sentients. Remedy this."

(Orphix) "Orphix Sentients have overrun that Corpus cap ship. Corpus ship but in our house. This has become an 'us' problem."

(Orphix) "On-screen: Corpus cap ship. Massive Sentient readings. Pack Necramechs. Whatever is on there can never be allowed off."

When approaching the capital ship

"Crew: disable priority targets before hitting that capital ship."

"Disable all priority targets."

"Disable priority targets prior to boarding the capital ship."

Priority Target: Anchor

The Anchor is a small facility that holds an Aurax Crewship in a stasis field. If the battle continues long enough, the Corpus Captain will order the Anchor to release the Crewship so that it may join the fight. Sabotaging the Anchor will release the Crewship without its crew, and it will drift uselessly until destroyed. The Anchor uses Type 1 sabotage objectives (Jamming Drones).

(upon boarding Anchor) "Objective: Collapse the anchor field to set that Crewship adrift."

(upon sabotaging objective) "Anchor field collapsed. Crewship is adrift."

Priority Target: Autofactory

The Autofactory is a large facility that periodically sends Ramsleds full of Aurax robotic proxies towards the Railjack. The Autofactory uses Type 1 sabotage objectives (Jamming Drones).

(upon boarding Autofactory) "You are in. Initiate line shutdown."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Autofactory decommissioned. Aurax robotic proxies are off the board."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Production: derailed. Robotic threat is negligible."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Aurax robotic production: offline."

Priority Target: Carrier Platform

The Carrier Platform is a large ship-like facility that periodically releases Aurax fighter units. The Carrier Platform uses Type 1 sabotage objectives (Jamming Drones).

(upon boarding Carrier Platform) "Infiltration successful. Ground these fighters. Permanently."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Carrier junked. Aurax fighters grounded. Too bad, so sad."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Scratch target. Carrier Platform is a graveyard."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Carrier platform is off the board. Come on home."

Priority Target: Cyclops Array

The Cyclops Array is a large facility that periodically fires swarms of missiles at the Railjack. The Cyclops Array uses Type 1 sabotage objectives (Jamming Drones).

(upon boarding Cyclops Array) "Infiltration successful. Silence the guns."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "The Cyclops has fallen. The skies are ours."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Cyclops Array is junk. High five."

Priority Target: Freightlinker

The Freightlinker is a Corpus supply train composed of multiple separate freight cars in a chain. It will periodically send Ramsleds full of Aurax robotic proxies towards the Railjack. The Freightlinker uses Type 2 sabotage objectives (Mobile Defence).

(upon boarding Freightlinker) "Obliterate this transport from the inside. They are expecting you. Godspeed."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Aurax troop reinforcements cut off. Our job just got a little easier."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Freightlinker destroyed. Threat negated. Next objective. Go."

Priority Target: Icedriver

The Icedriver is a large ship-like facility carrying a massive chunk of ice. It carves off pieces of ice, fits them with a sabot, and periodically fires them at the Railjack. If one of these 'Comet Shards' hits the Railjack, it will freeze the engines, greatly slowing movement and disabling the boost. The Icedriver uses Type 1 sabotage objectives (Jamming Drones).

(when the Railjack shoots down a Comet Shard, variant) "Incoming Comet Shard destroyed. Near miss."

(when the Railjack shoots down a Comet Shard, variant) "Comet Shard destroyed. Good shot."

(when the Railjack shoots down a Comet Shard, variant) "Comet Shard shot down."

(when a Comet Shard hits the Railjack, variant) "Comet Shard. Direct hit. Railjack slowed."

(when a Comet Shard hits the Railjack, variant) "We are iced."

(when a Comet Shard hits the Railjack, variant) "Deep freeze."

(if the pilot tries to boost while frozen, variant) "Engines locked."

(once the ice melts, variant) "Update: we are ice-free."

(once the ice melts, variant) "We are free. Engines thawed."

(once the ice melts, variant) "We are clear of ice."

(upon boarding Icedriver) "Boarding successful. Kill that Icedriver."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Icedriver goes boom. What a mess."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Someone left the fridge door open. Back to the ship."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Icedriver down."

Priority Target: Tether Power Plant

The Tether Power Plant is a large facility that periodically generates a large pulse granting overshields to all Corpus ships in the area. The Tether Power Plant uses Type 2 sabotage objectives (Mobile Defence).

(upon boarding Tether Power Plant) "Away crew: kill the lights."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Overshields down. Widespread pant-crapping in progress."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Power Plant down. Overshields have dissipated."

(upon sabotaging objective, variant) "Overshields are no longer a concern."

Priority Target Type 1 (Jamming Drones)

The Anchor station, Autofactory, Carrier Platform, Cyclops Array, and Icedriver priority targets all require the same strategy for disabling them. The Tenno must activate a panel to allow Cephalon Cy to start hacking into the system, and his hack progress will be shown on the HUD. The hacking process takes about 60 seconds unimpeded, but Jamming Drones will periodically appear in groups of two or three and slow down the hacking process by 60% each (applied multiplicatively) until destroyed. Additionally, the facility will begin unleashing disruption pulses. The Tenno can avoid the pulses, as their locations are telegraphed roughly one second in advance, but if a pulse hits the Tenno, hacking progress will be halted briefly.

After the hack is complete, the Tenno will have to defeat a commander unit: either an Optio crewman or a Tarask Bursa. Upon doing so, they must activate a console, which will thoroughly sabotage the objective and prevent it from being a further threat.

The Corpus Captain will also have dialogue throughout the process.

(upon accessing terminal, variant) "Corpus v4-Alpha protocols. How retro."

(upon accessing terminal, variant) "Phase one complete. Prepare for possible countermeasures."

(upon accessing terminal, variant) "I am in. Stay light on your feet."

(when disruption pulses begin, variant) "Countermeasures are interfering with my progress. Rectify."

(when disruption pulses begin, variant) "Countermeasures. Progress halted. Please assist."

(when disruption pulses begin, variant) "Countermeasures have been activated. Destroy them. I cannot work like this."

(when Jamming Drones appear, variant) "Progress halted. Jamming drones."

(when Jamming Drones appear, variant) "Those jamming drones are a serious problem. Progress halted."

(when Jamming Drones appear, variant) "Jamming drones. Yay."

(upon killing commander, variant) "Work complete. Bailing. Get to the override terminal."

(upon killing commander, variant) "Done. One last thing: get to the override terminal."

(upon killing commander, variant) "Override terminal located. Pull the plug."

Priority Target Type 2 (Mobile Defence)

The Freightlinker and Tether Power Plant priority targets require a different strategy to sabotage. The Tenno must activate a terminal and protect it for 30 seconds, then activate a different terminal and defend it for 30 seconds, then defeat the commander (either an Optio crewman or a Tarask Bursa). Upon doing so, they must activate a console, which will thoroughly sabotage the objective and prevent it from being a further threat.

(upon activating the first terminal, variant) "Decrypting. Protect the terminal."

(upon activating the first terminal, variant) "Thank you. This will take a minute. Defend this terminal."

(upon activating the first terminal, variant) "Working. Intercept enemy interference."

(when the first terminal is hacked, variant) "Primary code set decrypted. Must solve secondary code set to permit system shutdown. New terminal marked."

(when the first terminal is hacked, variant) "First code set decrypted. Move on to secondary terminal."

(when the first terminal is hacked, variant) "Primary decryption successful. One set to go. Move."

(upon activating the second terminal, variant) "A matched code set. Analysing solutions."

(upon activating the second terminal, variant) "Decrypting secondary codes."

(upon activating the second terminal, variant) "Secondary access codes encountered. Need more time."

(upon killing the commander, variant) "Excellent. Now shut that place down."

(upon killing the commander, variant) "All right. Playtime is over. Trash the joint."

(upon killing the commander, variant) "Everyone in one piece. All right. Kill the lights. Go."

When the capital ship is vulnerable

"Priority targets neutralised. Next up: Capital ship."

"Strategic targets eliminated. Time for the main event."

"Crew: strategic targets disabled. Time for the main event."

"Proceed to your primary objective. This is not a drill."

"Proceed to the primary objective."

Upon boarding the capital ship

Exterminate and Defence missions are coordinated by the Lotus once the Tenno has boarded the ship. Orphix missions are coordinated by Vilcor, though there is no hand-off dialogue. Volatile missions are coordinated by Cephalon Cy throughout.

All Tenno in the squad must enter the capital ship at the same time. If one Tenno boards, they will be stuck in the airlock until the rest of the squad arrives. After 30 seconds, Cephalon Cy will forcibly teleport any lagging Tenno squadmembers into the airlock so that the mission may proceed. The on-foot portion of the mission takes place on the Corpus Ship tileset.

(if a Tenno has entered the Corpus airlock and is waiting for their squad, variant) "Tenno pathfinder has successfully boarded. Remaining crew: sending you in."

(if a Tenno has entered the Corpus airlock and is waiting for their squad, variant) "Boarding operation successful. Sending full away crew."

(if a Tenno has entered the Corpus airlock and is waiting for their squad, variant) "Tenno is in. Locking. Sending away crew."

(when Cy is about to teleport the crew into the airlock) "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0."

(when Cy teleports the crew into the airlock, variant) "Mark."

(when Cy teleports the crew into the airlock, variant) "Engage."

"Handing off to Tenno coordinator Lotus. See you on the other side."

"Lotus will take it from here. Good luck."

"Lotus on the line. Handing off. Crew: good luck."

Point of Interest: Derelict Shield Node

Derelict shield nodes appear only in Venus Proxima (and in Grineer Skirmish missions in Veil Proxima). They contain, among other things, blueprints and components for the Athodai sidearm (or, in Veil Proxima, the Spectra Vandal sidearm).

(upon approaching derelict, variant) "Sensor readings indicate nearby derelict."

(upon approaching derelict, variant) "Crew: We have a derelict vessel on scope."

(upon approaching derelict, variant) "Derelict spotted. Your call."

(upon approaching derelict, variant) "Eyes open. We do not know what is on that thing."

(upon approaching derelict, variant) "Abandoned derelict nearby."

(upon approaching derelict, variant) "We have a dead ship in range. Possible wreckage."

(upon approaching derelict, variant) "Derelict on scope."

(upon entering derelict, variant) "This is where the celestial meets the terrestrial. Derelict boarded."

(upon entering derelict, variant) "Tenno on board derelict."

(upon entering derelict, variant) "Derelict boarded."

(upon entering derelict, variant) "Crew, take what you can and get out. Remember what happened last time."

(upon hacking panel) "Decrypting archives…. Crew, you might find this interesting."

Point of Interest: Ice Mine

Ice mines appear only in Neptune Proxima. Solaris workers can be seen within, though they cannot be interacted with. Ice mines contain, among other things, blueprints and components for the Nautilus sentinel..

(upon approaching ice mine, variant) "Ice mine on scope."

(upon approaching ice mine, variant) "Reading nearby ice mine."

(upon approaching ice mine, variant) "Looks like the Corpus have an ice mine in this sector."

(upon entering ice mine, variant) "You are in. Stay in touch."

(upon entering ice mine, variant) "You are in. Eyes open."

(upon entering ice mine, variant) "Do not get turned around in there."

(upon hacking panel, variant) "We can use that."

(upon hacking panel, variant) "Useful."

(upon hacking panel, variant) "Shiny."

Point of Interest: Derelict Freightlinker

Derelict freightlinkers appear in Pluto Proxima and Veil Proxima. They contain, among other things, blueprints and components for the Carmine Penta grenade launcher.

(upon approaching freightlinker, variant) "Crew: derelict freightlinker nearby."

(upon approaching freightlinker, variant) "Freightlinker on scope. Abandoned."

(upon entering freightlinker, variant) "Ghost train boarded. Stay frosty."

(upon entering freightlinker, variant) "Boarding successful."

(upon entering freightlinker, variant) "Exercise caution."

(upon hacking panel, variant) "Scavs missed a few things."

(upon hacking panel, variant) "Still some meat on the bone."

(upon hacking panel, variant) "Good eye."

Mission complete

(Exterminate) "No muss, no fuss. Tagging vessel for salvage. Plotting exit corridor. Take five."

(Exterminate) "No life signs. Vessel is clear. Closing out this file."

(Exterminate) "Notifying scavenger crews. The locals send their thanks."

(Defence) "Effective. Efficient. Fun. Plotting escape route."

(Defence) "Mission success. Take five."

(Defence) "Every day, in every way, you are getting better and better."

(Orphix) "Sentient presence at zero. Walk away in slow motion. Orchestra swells."

(Orphix) "Orphix pulses have flatlined. Nice. Moving on."
